Blue Silk Scarves: Inspired by the Magic of Light, chance and surprise.
I've long been fascinated by pattern on water, and spend hours trying to capture the perfect moment when light dances on the surface, or when ripples rebound making beautiful, organic patterns. It's a subject I return to time and again as a constant source of inspiration for my silk scarf collections. I think it's partly because silk is such a natural, flowing material, that it lends itself to the organic shapes found in the ebb and flow of water, and because the pattern combinations do appear to be endless.
I'm also fascinated by patterns which aren't quite what they seem to be, like leaf skeletons.
It's amazing how patterns come to life in close-up, and start to take on a new life of their own.
The delicacy of the threads which remain as leaves disintegrate was a tiny network that I couldn't resist exploring, set against a stunning cobalt blue background.
